Relationships are a little prickly. Some days things are great and other days, you feel like your relationship is going to end imminently. Sometimes you feel like you are the luckiest person alive because you have finally found your soulmate and other days, you find yourself wondering what you ever saw in him in the first place. However, setting your own feelings of sometime indecision aside, do you ever find yourself obsessing over what he is thinking? Wondering if he is truly happy in the relationship or if he might just up and leave you for a shinier, brighter, newer model?

I am a professional matchmaker and here are some things to consider if you are trying to figure out if he is around for the long-haul or angling to jump ship as soon as he has the opportunity:

-A woman's intuition is very strong and often times correct; if you sense he is walking towards the door, he probably is thinking about it.

-You need to watch for signs that he is in it for the long haul. Does he call you his girlfriend? Do you operate like a single unit? Is there an "us" mentality or a "me" mentality?

-You need to notice how he acts with you with regard to his friends. Does he bring you around them a lot, does he talk about you to them? Does he brag about you to them? These are all good signs. Or do they barely know your name?

-You need to notice how he acts
with you with regard to his family. Would he/does he stick up for you with his family? Does he talk about you with pride and admiration to his family? Have you even met his family?

-You need to notice if he gets nervous and apologetic when the two of you fightand you threaten to break up with him or if he seems relieved that you are going to end it.

-You need to notice if he sticks around when the chips are down like if you are having a bad day, you lose your job, you are sick, you have a big issue with your family, etc. You need to notice if he is willing to put aside his life when you need him the most.

-You need to notice how he interacts with other women. He wouldn't be a man if he didn't notice other women occasionally, but you need to notice how he is noticing other women. Does he look at them with a look of longing or does he just notice them in passing before his attention comes right back to you?

-You need to notice if he defends you to others and is on your side with most things or do you feel like he is constantly your enemy and always against you?

-You need to notice if he is willing to do things you want to do that he doesn't really want to do. Men are only willing to set aside what they want if they are very into you, otherwise, they just do what they want and don't care how you feel about it.

1. You can be nice. Keep in mind that you have him right now, she doesn't, so there is no reason to be snippy.

2. Sizing her up will get you nowhere. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason for chemistry. If you are scratching your head in disbelief that he was into her and now he's into you, don't bother, you will never be able to figure it out.

3. Don't do the old contrast and compare because chances are, this will just make you feel insecure. Just feel confident about who you are and the connection that the two of you are having in the present.

4. If you feel a little jealousy about his connection to her or the fact that another woman knows him as well as you do, that's okay. Feeling jealous and/or insecure is natural, but don't let it send you into a funk and just ride out the evening; it will end soon enough.

5.Be prepared for some reminiscing
and some inside jokes. This does not mean that they have a more special bond than the two of you have; it just means that when they were together, they did have some fun times and are bound to talk about them.

6. Don't get thrown if she is a little snide or tries to act like she knows more about him than you do. Keep in mind that if she dated him for a long time or a longer time than you have, she might in fact know more about him than you do. However, this doesn't matter because you are with him now and as you go forward in the relationship, you will have plenty of time to learn all the things she knows about him and then some.

7. If you are seeing her at an event where your guy's friends might be in attendance, don't get upset if they know her and are nice to her at the party. This does not mean they like her better than you, it just means that they know her and are being courteous.

8. Don't get upset if your boyfriend acts a little weird or odd or different in the situation. Keep in mind that it is very awkward for him to be standing with the girl with whom he is currently having sex and the one with whom he used to have sex.

9. Don't dwell on the situation afterwards or pick a fight. There is no reason to let her affect your current situation with him. The evening has already passed; let bygones be bygones.

10. After seeing them together, if you have any real doubts about whether or not it is truly over between them and/or whether or not, something between the two of you is genuine, make sure to have this discussion with him in a calm and more casual manner. You don't want it to blow up in your face just because you are feeling a little insecure or jealous.

There are plenty of healthier date options, so save more traditional food-centric dates for special occasions and up your healthy date ante. Here are 10 ideas to get you started:

1. Learn how to juggle.
"We all know that laughter is important in a romantic relationship," says Heather Wolf, an ACE certified personal trainer and founder and CEO of JuggleFit LLC in Gulf Breeze, FL. If you're newly dating and still need ways to break the ice, taking a juggling class together will not only elicit smiles and laughter, it'll break down any walls by bringing the two of you to a level playing field where you're both dropping the balls and working things out. When a couple learns to juggle together, it helps them not take like too seriously.

2. Do a "danger date" for an endorphin rush.
Dates where you're taking a trapeze lesson, bungee jumping, skydiving or white-water rafting can provide a kind of super-adventurous (and slightly dangerous) good time while creating an instant bond. "Anytime the two of you do something unusual that is scary or thrilling, it creates a different kind of chemistry," says Samantha Daniels, a professional matchmaker for over 10 years. But be careful, says Daniels: "You still have to do your due diligence to make sure the person is right for you on other levels."

3. Play a competitive sport.
Tennis, racquetball, or bowling can make for a high-spirited activity date. "This kind of edginess makes the interaction exciting, stimulating and novel, which have been proven to keep the romance alive," says Debbie Mandel, author of Addicted to Stress(Wiley & Sons). It's a great way to get to know someone without any rationalizations or verbiage to hide behind. Observe your date's defense, offense and unpredictable moves while you play. Plus, the exhilaration exercise brings increases one's libido and spontaneity. If your date is a sore loser, restore harmony by betting on the outcome of the game with the winner's fantasy acted out or another steamy win/win prize.

4. Walk for a cause.
Most couples have a cause that's near and dear to their hearts. One of you may have lost a loved one to cancer or heart disease, or maybe you're both passionate about politics or animal rights. 5. Hit the farmer's market and prepare a healthy meal with your purchases.
"What's so much fun about going to a farmer's market is learning about new foods, how they are grown or produced, and getting to know the people who grew or produced them," says Rachel Begun, a registered dietitian in Rye Brook, NY. Speak to the food artisans and farmers, learn about a new produce variety, and purchase some ingredients to prepare a meal. Ask about your date's food preferences and eating style, which says a lot about someone's personality. In the kitchen, work as a team rather than using the "divide and conquer" approach. "The focus should be on working together," says Begun.

6. Volunteer to walk dogs at an animal shelter.
Though most shelter organizations require their volunteers to submit applications, attend orientations and complete training before being allowed to handle or walk their dogs, you can plan it in advance. "Doing any kind of charity work

"Dancing is a fantastic way to burn calories, exercise the heart, gain leg, arm, abdominal strength, move the body in multiple directions and most importantly, have fun," says Monique Hollowell, CEO of Lafemme Mobile Gym in Sacramento, CA. Dancing to five songs burns about 150 calories. Latin rhythmic salsa dancing is one of the best calorie-burning options due to its repetitive foot coordination, torso/hip rotations and arm movements. "It's fantastic for partners due to the enhanced awareness you must have between each other to do the right moves," says Hollowell.

8. Join a yoga or Krav Maga class.
"Taking a class is not only a great way to get to know someone, but to truly see if you are compatible with that person," says Barbara Neitlich, a Beverly Hills psychotherapist. It challenges your relationship in a way that going out to dinner never will. Anyone can behave like prince (or princess) charming on a dinner date. However, in taking a class (such as yoga or Krav Maga) that challenges mind, body and spirit, you're evaluating whether this is someone you want to be with long-term. Classes like these allow you to see how your date does outside of his or her comfort zone and whether this person is resilient, patient and willing to take on new challenges.

9. Book a joint session with a personal trainer.
"Regular exercise can not only boost your confidence, which can help when attempting to meet your prospective partner, it can also increase your mood, which can help you keep your current partner," says Travis Steffen, exercise physiologist and founder of WorkoutBOX.com. If you're training for something like a half-marathon, you'll not only bond as a couple during practice runs, you'll also be able to feel a sense of accomplishment when you both achieve your mutual goal. Sharing a powerful experience like this can be one of the best ways to make a deep connection with someone. What's more, working out boosts your libido!

10. Visit a vineyard.

"To make your date especially healthy, find out if the site offers walking tours of the vineyard," says Katie Heddleston, a Cleveland-based registered dietitian. Then, sample red wines. Reds have been shown to protect your heart against disease due to resveratrol and other antioxidants. But don't over-imbibe: dietary guidelines for Americans state that drinking in moderation for women equals one drink per day, while men may enjoy two drinks. "Remember, the spit cup is there for a reason," cautions Heddleston.

This past weekend, I attended the first annual Taste of Two Forks in Bridgehampton. The night was a sold-out success with over 1500 food lovers wining and dining on samples from more than 40 restaurants and 20 vineyards from across Long Island. The event raised money for Have a Heart Community Trust. With so many places from which to sample, it was hard to pick a favorite! But there were definitely some that stood out to me. Here are some of my top choices that you should try...

The chardonnay from One Woman Vineyards was rich and delicious. It would definitely be a great bottle to impress someone with on a first date or to romantically share with your long-time beau. The Beachhouse served a savory fish ceviche with a citrus sauce that gave it an extra kick and zangy flavor. The tuna tartare from Savanna's was outrageous and would make a great dish to share on a date. Dessert is always a favorite at any event and Nick and Toni's did not disappoint with their fabulous dessert selection. For those with a sweet tooth, Dylan's Candy Bar created a booth full of sugary delights to take home including large lollipops and plastic bags where you could grab your own penny candy selection to make your own goody bag.

The delicious food and drinks that were served all night gave people something to talk about and provided excellent icebreakers for all the single people in attendance. I saw lots of people mixing and mingling with new friends and old; you could tell that everyone was very happy with what they were tasting and that a great time was had by all.

Make it a habit to have one date night a week, whether you go out to dinner, catch a movie or just take a stroll around the neighborhood, make sure it is just you and your beau. If you are nervous about hiring a babysitter, keep in mind that grandparents are always eager to take care of their new grandchild.

2. Take turns. It is important to alternate who gets up when the baby cries during the middle of the night or who will get to have their girl/guys night out each week. By taking turns, you will relieve some of the stress on your partner and vice versa. When you both feel more stress free and get an extra hour of shut-eye, you will see that appreciate what your partner has done for you, which will keep your marriage strong.

3. Help each other. Although starting and raising a family is hard work, there is nothing more enjoyable. Couples should work together to raise their family. This past weekend in the Hamptons was one of the biggest party weekends of the summer because Love Heals held their 12th Annual Benefit at Luna Farms in Sagaponack, NY. Over 600 people showed up including a host of celebrities, all to benefit this amazing cause. Love Heals, the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education, empowers young people in the fight against HIV. Since its launch, the foundation has reached more than 400,000 young people across the NYC metropolitan area. All proceeds raised at the event were donated to this cause to raise awareness and gather more people in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The Coney Island theme had everyone involved in carnival-like activities like skeeball and ring toss where gigantic stuffed animals were the big prizes. There was a photo booth set up by Patron which was my favorite thing of the evening because it made you look like you were on a roller coaster with people screaming in exhilation. Party hits spun by DJ M.O.S had everyone dancing the night away including Russell Simmons, model Hilary Rhoda and hockey player Sean Avery. The party was an absolute blast and Love Heals should be proud of all of the foundation's amazing accomplishments.

Have you ever thought about taking a romantic getaway to Playa del Carmen, Mexico?

I am a professional matchmaker and here's what I know...

The pros...

It is a straight shot flight from most major cities right into Cancun and then a quick 20 to 40 minute car ride to Playa.

Playa is full of hotels for all different types of vacations. Everything from family resorts to all inclusive properties to top notch resorts.

Several of the top notch resorts are located in an area called Mayakoba which is about 25 minutes from the Cancun airport.

Mayakoba is a self-contained gated community that encompasses three exclusive properties -- the Banyan Tree, the Fairmont and the Rosewood. If you are staying at one of the properties, you can eat at any of the restaurants at any of the hotels although they are all separately owned and charge the meal to your room, which is very convenient. We ate at all the properties and they all seem to offer top notch food and good service. Additionally, all the hotels share one stretch of beach, so you can walk from one resort to the next quite easily. And there is a top notch Greg Norman golf resort that runs through all the properties and guests from all the hotels have access to play.

As for choosing which Mayakoba property to stay in during your vacation, hands down, the Banyan Tree Mayakoba is the most romantic and extravagant of all the properties. The Banyan Tree spares no detail to make your stay as romantic as possible. They even have a "romance consultant" on staff that can help with every romantic desire. And Adriana, the Communications manager, is also quite helpful coordinating your every desire while you are at the resort.

Upon arrival at the Banyan Tree, the first romantic thing you notice is the open-air boat that sits at the lobby and will transport you to the Mayakoba beach.

The boat takes you on a 15 minute scenic tour of the mangroves within which the hotel is set and where you will actually see a variety of animals including crocodiles, monkeys, giant turtles and a variety of colorful birds. The ride to the beach is not to be missed, but is only necessary one time during your stay. After that, you can also get to the beach by riding one of the hotel's beach cruiser bicycles along the golf course straight to the beach. This was one of my favorite parts of our stay. You get exercise and the ride is beautiful through the property.

The Banyan Tree villas are set all throughout the mangroves on the property. This reminded me of the canals in Venice. Every room that is on the water is a full villa with its own pool. We had the Spa Pool Villa which was spectacular and had both a private swimming pool as well as a private hot tub. The pool at the villa is not a small lap-pool like most hotel villas, but instead it is actually a real full-sized pool. The most romantic part of the pool is that you can literally open the sliding door from your bedroom and dive into the pool in the buff. Another great perk of the villas at the hotel is that all of them have a separate structure for the living room which serves to enclose the villa on both sides, making it completely private and neighbor-free; it feels like you are in your own oasis.

Additionally, the Banyan Tree offers a "bath menu" which literally has over 10 romantic baths they can prepare for you and your sweetheart in your private outdoor bathtub under the stars. You let them know which special bath you want and when you return to the room, that bath is drawn with candles, romantic music etc, all under the stars.

Another romantic extravagance at the Banyan Tree is their two possibilities for private romantic meals. One is a privately prepared barbeque dinner served on the rooftop of your villa under the skylight. And the other is a private dinner served to you by candlelight as you are meandering through the mangroves in the evening on your private boat. Both options are unlike anything you have ever experienced at other resorts.

The Banyan Tree also has quite a spa, and one of their special not to be missed romantic offerings is their "Rainforest" which you experience as a couple. In bathing suits, the two of you go through 10 different hot and cold water and massage rituals that end in a very romantic hot tub room where the two of you can linger and languish together.

As for activities in and around Playa del Carmen, a great romantic activity to do with your honey is scuba diving in the "Cenotes." The Cenotes are famous in this part of the world and basically you scuba dive through caves deep on the bottom of the water. And the Cenotes are found in the oddest place -- they can be in a campground or a park and then all of a sudden there is a water hole in the ground which leads to a whole underwater maze. A great way to experience the Cenotes is to hire a private guide or go with a small group. The company we used was called Cenote Xperience with Nico the owner being most helpful. We had a lot of fun.

Another activity you don't want to miss is to take an afternoon or evening and go into the town of Playa del Carmen. The town is adorable and it's about 15 minutes from the hotels. There are blocks and blocks of pedestrian, no cars allowed, streets, tons of fun shopping -- trendy clothes, one of a kind pieces and even your typical Mexican outdoor market where bargaining for a good deal is the name of the game. And there are very reasonably priced restaurants along the main drag that are yummy and romantic as well. This is a great place to pick up your sweetheart a little trinket so she remembers this special trip.

The cons--

Playa del Carmen definitely has a mosquito season and if you are staying at a hotel where your room is on a mangrove, make sure you choose a non-mosquito month.

Playa del Carmen gets little unexpected rain showers like a tropical island, so don't be surprised if there is a torrential downpour and 40 minutes later bright sunshine.

The Banyan Tree hosts many romantic weddings. If all the pomp and circumstance will disturb your otherwise relaxing vacation, this might not be the place for you. However, if you are there with a special significant other and hoping that your nuptials are just around the corner, a hotel like this might just give you just opportunity to catch the bouquet or get your boyfriend in the mood to propose marriage.

Cucina is in Woodstock, that's right, the town that is famous for hippy-dippies. Cucina presents it's food in a renovated farmhouse with exposed beams, and a rustic feel. And Cucina has yummy Italian food. They are famous for their pizzas, but I especially enjoyed their shrimp appetizer with white beans, tomato and rosemary. Yummy.

When it comes to a romantic vacation, it's crucial to pick a place that has the right mix of hotels, fun activities and places for private time together. Panama is that kind of place.

I am a professional matchmaker and here's what I know about romance in Panama...

1. Panama is a direct flight from many major US cities, which makes it a very desirable travel destination. Many of the major airlines fly there direct. Copa Air, part of the Continental family, is the official airline of the country and flies there many times a day.

2. Panama City is a great vacation destination because you can literally experience city, beach and countryside/adventure all within 2 hours of the city center.

3. If you want a city hotel with a killer romantic view of the Panama Bay, I found the Miramar hotel to be terrific; it is the best place to stay in the financial area of Panama. Make sure to ask for a room with a water view and for the Club floor so you can have access to the Club lounge and a private pool, which is never crowded. From the pool deck, you get a straight shot view of the Bay which truthfully rivals views in some of the best cities in the world.

4. If you want a City Hotel with a trendy feel, the recently opened ManRey is the choice for you.

The hotel looks like its straight out of Miami with every modern amenity known to man in the rooms. This hotel's location is on one of the party streets of Panama, Calle Uruguay, but the hotel makes up for that by creating faux gardens in the rooms so you feel like you are in a much more picturesque locale. Additionally, they have an over-the-top sexy rooftop pool with lots of bed-size loungers and comfy cabanas where you can have some private time.

5. If you want more of a resort hotel still within Panama City proper, The Playa Bonita Hotel is the perfect spot. You can get a room with a balcony that looks right out onto the water where you can actually see the lineup of the steamer ships waiting to go through the Panama Canal. Additionally they have an infinity pool that literally looks like it's pouring into the Canal itself. And their Lighthouse restaurant was delicious and very intimate for a couply dinner.

At this hotel don't forget to ask Alexander, the very knowledgeable activities director to take you on a boat tour at sunset- this was the most romantic thing we did here because the panoramic view was so expansive that we almost got to touch the streamer ships lined up to go on the canal. Additionally make sure Alexander takes you out for a hike through the vast expansion of jungle around the hotels property which ends with kayaking. This is great couples activity in that the girl can wear a bikini and the guy can protect her from all the species in the jungle!

6. For historical activities. of course, the most important thing to see is the Panama Canal. Usually this is much more exciting for the male counterpart of any couple but once you get there, anyone male or female will be fascinated. In terms of how you visit the Canal, there are several ways to go depending upon just how enraptured you are. The most basic yet thorough way to do it is to go to the Miraflores Locks Visitor Center. You can get a yellow taxi to take you there for under $10 and then there is a $6 for an entrance fee. While you are there, you will get to see the locks opening and closing and real steamer ships go through the canal. The canal is in operation 24/7 but the Visitor Center closes at 4:30pm.

While there, you can take in an English speaking movie that gives you great history of the canal and they also have a museum. Even though this is a visitor center, it was still an excellent way to see the canal. If you need or want a more interactive visit to the Canal, they offer Partial transits. Keep in mind that regardless of what anyone tells you, these are only offered on Saturday and Sundays and in some months only on Sundays. With a partial transit, you are on a big boat for about 6 hours and you go through the canal, experience the locks and eat and drink a lot. It's a very cool experience but you need to want to use a full weekend day to do it.

7. Inside Panama City itself, there are several must do romantic things to do. Casco Viejo, not to be confused with Panama Viejo is a gentrified old area of town where there are a lot of romantic and quaint restaurants on a few different squares. Don't be alarmed by the not yet modernized streets in this area; the area overall is very up and coming. In this area, you can check out La Scena, a quaint jazz bar on the square or Ego, a fun modern wine bar. Or if you just prefer a romantic stroll, have someone point out how you get onto the walkway along the edge of the water -- there are benches and stopping points along the walk and you can see all the modern buildings and lights of the city; it's a breathtaking view.

Additionally, in another part of town, you can head up to Ancon Hill -- this is the best view of the entire city and tres romantique. And make sure to take in the finance district where all the modern buildings are being built including a new Trump Tower. In this area, you can gamble all night long, if you so choose, with the most popular casino being the Royale Casino.

8 . Panama has a lot of great restaurants with a broad selection of food types. I would highly recommend La Posta, one of Panama's most noted restaurants. It is located on Calle Uruguay and it cozy yet chic with very yummy food. Additionally there is Signature LT, part of the United States BLT family of restaurants where if you are homesick and jonzing for one of Laurent's popovers or the Tuna Tartare appetizer, you can have it there. Lastly, when you hit the Casco Viejo part of town, make sure to check out Mostaza restaurant which is very romantic with its dimmed lights and live singers performing nightly.

9. Panama has some of the best shopping in Latin America. If you didn't bring a gift with you for your sweetie or you want to buy him or her something extra, you will have no problem doing that in Panama. The Multiplaza is the designer mall and let me tell you, every major designer is represented there either in their designer department store that looks like Neiman Marcus or with their own free-standing boutique. You will find Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, among many others. There is also a more local Panamian mall called the Multicentro where you can pick up some fun Panama designer things, especially shoes and jewelry.

10. Your most romantic day in Panama will be when you venture out to the jungle and take in some real adventure activities. The best thing to do is to get in touch with a tour company like Panama Travel Corp and ask the very knowledgeable and English speaking owner, Leo to plan some wonderful adventure days for you. He will send you a private car and driver or an organize a group tour for you and take you everywhere you want to go. The guides are English-speaking and can provide you with quite a history lesson on Panama.

Then, keep in mind that nothing stirs up romance more than when your adrenaline goes into high gear at a place like Gatun Eco Adventures canopy zip line tours. Here you will fly through the jungle, and see Toucans or Howler monkeys on the Gatun Melia property. Gatun Eco Adventures claims to be the best company in all of Panama for the zip lines because their safety standards are higher than any other company yet they still provide a thrill-seeking adventure; they use 2 cable lines instead of one and for those of you who are bigger men, they claim the harnesses can carry an elephant! And the owners, Frank and Melissa will organize a whole day for you with a hike through the jungle, a boat cruise and lunch.

Then on the way back from the ziplines, I would recommend that you make a pitstop at Fort Lorenzo after you go through the Gatun Locks (the second most famous Locks in Panama). This is one of the most picturesque spots in all of Panama because it sits on the waters edge but is a manicured as a golf course; the whole effect makes you feel like you have been transported back in time.

She owns a company called Consider It Done which also happens to be the title of her new book. In our parents and grandparents generation, there was no question that a man would pick up a woman when they went on a date. In our generation, it is becoming more and more rare. Is it a function of how far people live from each other, of the fact that a lot of people live in cities like NY without cars or of the fact that both men and women work so they are coming from different places and might just be easier to meet at the restaurant? Or are men just lazier or not so into courting women these days?

I don't know about you, but I love Greek food. I love the freshness of the fish, the simple sauces, the crisp lightness of a greek salad and the warm fluffiness of the pita bread with their delectable spreads. I recently went back to a great little Greek spot in the East Village. It is tres romantique and yummy to boot. The decor is minimalist and sleek, the food was prepared well, the service very friendly and the prices really reasonable. If you are looking for a new Greek to try in Manhattan, this would be a good one...

Robin Hood rocks Sheryl Crow

This past weekend, the Robin Hood foundation hosted a fabulous soiree to raise money to help poverty stricken people in New York. Not only were there over 400 people who were socializing and networking but the main act was none other than Sheryl Crow who sang for over 2 hours. She sang all of our old faves like "If it makes you happy" "All I wanna Do" and "The first cut is the deepest" and then she sang some new songs as well as a few romantic ballads with Citizen Pope. The song was outstanding and Sheryl looked like the Rock Star she is- cool and sexy. If you didn't make it to this event, definitely keep an eye out for it next year!

Susan Komen Breast Cancer Holiday House

Even though Breast Cancer awareness month is October, that doesn't mean that we can't support the cause other months as well. As we embark upon the holiday season, a not to be missed Decorator's showhouse is the Holiday House on E 63rd Street in Manhattan. Some of the city's best interior designers have come in and transformed this elegant townhouse into holiday rooms. Don't miss the Mother's Day Room, The Easter Room or Chinese New Year. They even asked me to do a room, the Valentine's Day Love Lounge where you can sip a love potion, ask love questions and relax to love melodies from Air Supply and Barbra Streisand. Some of the designer's participating this year are Barbara Ostrom, Marcia Tucker Interiors, and Debra Landis Designs . The house is open to the public for the first 2 weeks of December and all proceeds go to Breast Cancer research. This is not to be missed!

Mehtaphor

I recently tried this restaurant and let me tell you, it was yummy. It is located on the ground floor of the Duane Street Hotel and its definitely worth a try. Ir is the newest restaurant from Jehangir Mehta, the owner of the small plates restaurant, Graffiti. They categorize Mehtaphor as asian fusion, indian, eclectic and small plates; I know, that's sounds like too many types of food. However, whatever you want to call it, the food works. Don't miss the Shrimp Ceviche appetizer, the sauce is divine. And Shaved Fois Gras with the Raspberry Compote was just right, served with a side of the most succulent salad; I have no idea what they put on those greens but I literally had to order an extra plate of just the lettuces! And the Banana Leaf Cod with Green Chutney was the perfect mix of sweet and a little spicy. Then, the Hazelnut Souffle was the right ending for this meal. Two words of caution when going here, go for the food, not for quiet conversation; this place is very noisy, fun and upbeat, but noisy. Second, make sure to request an actual table or you might wind up at the bar or the common table. Enjoy!

Endeavor Organization

There are a lot of do good organizations out there these days so it takes a lot to capture a philanthropist attention. And the Endeavor Organization does just that, makes everyone sit up and take notice. This organization helps entrepreneurs in emerging markets start or grow their companies all with an eye towards creating more job and economic growth for the country. The organization started in 1997 and since that time have expanded into over 10 emerging markets. I learned all of this at the very lovely event they hosted in New York City where they honored the entrepreneurs who founded the Gilt Groupe. Notable people like Edgar Bronfman Jr., Paula Zahn and Nicholas Beim were in attendance. And the evening's entertainment was sexy crooner, Bruno Mars who sang all his hits songs including my favorite song, Just the Way You Are!

Casa Lever

I recently returned to Casa Lever for dinner. This hotspot is located in the Lever Building on 53rd Street right of Park Avenue. It is a great place for a date if you are trying to impress her with food . The food was yummy. I had an amazing Carciofi salad first which had hearts of palm, artichokes of course and baby arugula with shaved and a light but tasting dressing, then we went to one of their signature dishes, Tagliatelle Bolognese with veal ragout and the main course was scrumptous Sardinian-style lamb served with polenta and a wine reduction. Then, we even saved room for a nibble of their Gianduia dessert, one of my favorites because I love hazelnuts. The food was top notch. One word of caution, if you are service snob, this might not be the place for you- the staff was very confused- bringing the wrong dishes and drinks to tables, stuttering over reciting the specials and just not as attentive as you would think they would be at a place of this stature. I am hopeful it was just an off night because the food is not to be missed!

Recently on Facebook, a single girl posted an entry about married men hitting on her, a lot and that she thought that all married men should have to wear wings to give the single gals a hint that they are unavailable. Not a bad idea in theory but will that really solve the problem? Isn't the ring just a symbol and don't we see plenty of men who are wearing a ring still flirting? Moreover, don't we see too many women flirting back even with the ring clad man? In reality, shouldn't it really be all about the men and how they present themselves to the world at large?

Boarding for Breast Cancer

Every October I try to attend as many Breast Cancer events as possible as there is nothing more important to a woman than helping to find a cure for this disease. This was my first time at a Boarding for Breast Cancer event and I was quite impressed with the turnout and the dedication to the cause. The idea behind boarding for breast cancer is how important early detection is especially for people who have active lifestyles. The women who founded this organization had a friend die of breast at 26, just two months after it was detected.
The event took place at Desiron, Frank Carfaro's very hip home furnishings store that has one of the coolest event spaces on it's bottom floor. There was cool music, dancing and many attractive NY hipsters. Definitely check it out next year and if you didn't get to support as many breast cancer events this year during October, please keep an eye out for the Bring a Friend for Breast Cancer event I am hosting in early December at the Susan G. Komen Holiday House.

Goo Gone

How many times have you bought something and if has one of those gummy, gluey stickers on it and you just can't get it off? You try soap and water, you try Windex, sometimes you even use your teeth, but to no avail, that stupid sticker is still there and of course, they always put it in the most prominent places. Solution and it really works- Goo Gone. I know you always thought of that stuff as an infomercial ripoff but honestly, it works. You literally put it on a paper towel and scrub it over the sticky icky sticker and like magic, it starts dissolving and then it's gone. A word of caution, if you have a manicure where gloves when you use it because it makes the nail polish go away as well!

I recently attended a ping pong event for the Carol Baldwin Breast Cancer fund at the hot spot, Spin. The room was packed with young social creatures, all turning out for the cause. Great place to meet someone, all for a great cause. There was a tournament going on in the middle of the room between the Super women- Breast cancer survivors and Super Models. And people were playing pick-up ping pong games all over the room. Then Kelly Dooley was there peddling her Bodyrock Sportsline all for the cause. I even got a photo with Stephen Baldwin. I don't know about you, but I can always get a few public speaking tips from a Master. I speak at conferences, events and on the phone all the time and I think I am good, but I could always be better. Everyone could. Enter TJ Walker, he has been coaching famous people on their public speaking for years. And now he has written a book as he says, "a speaking survival guide... for the rest of us." There are great tips in here that are helpful whether you speak at Fortune 500 events or you are just trying to get your children to take you more seriously. My favorite tip is if you feel like you are losing your audience, address someone by name and ask a series of questions so that they become reengaged in the talk. Definitely worth a read!

Zachys Wine Tasting to Benefit the Robin Hood Foundation

When it comes to distributing wine, Zachys is one of the best in the business. And Robin Hood is one of our best philanthropic organizations as it is the leader in fighting poverty in NYC. Put them both together and you have yourself a great event. And this one was not to be missed. There were over 130 wineries represented from across the Globe alongside restaurant outposts with food from some of New York top chefs. Some of the favorite wines I sampled were the Napanook 2007 Bordeaux blend from Dominus Estate in Napa Valley., the Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 "Fay" from Napa Valley, the Patz & Hall Chardonnay 2008 from Sonoma, the Columbia Crest Reserve Merlot 2007 from ChateauSte Michelle in Washington, the Pierre Yves Colin-Morey Chasagne Montrachet Les Caillerets 2008 from Burgundy France, the Joseph Phelps dessert wine, Eisrebe 2008 from Napa, and the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Cloudy Bay. As for the food, the Pumpkin soup with chanterelle mushrooms and croutons was delish from Benoit, and the wine samplings of fromage, salamis and proscuitto from Primizie. Yum, yum!

How much time do you spend a week grooming yourself? Between your blowout, your facial, your nails and toes and shaving, I am betting at least 24 hours. And with shaving, we think that it is easier than going through with the laser hair removal down there because it seems quicker, it's less expensive and less painful. However, the fact of the matter is, if we could remove the hair down there once and for all, wouldn't life be grand? Shower time would be shorter, no more ingrown hairs and boyfriends all over would be perpetually happy. That's where completely bare comes in. Don't let the name fool you or scare you, you can go as bare or not bare as you dare; it's your choice but letting them permanently remove that stuff down there is the right choice to make. They have locations all over the city-it's private, it's pleasant and their technicians keep it simple and painless because they have a magical lotion that helps a lot. The first time is scariest but after that, it's smooth sailing. And when you are finished you will be so happy that you did it that you might reward yourself with a Vajewel or a Vatoo. I bet now, I really have your attention!!

Trader Joe's

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical before entering this gargantuan establishment. I had been in one year's ago in Los Angeles, but all I remembered was long lines and lots of just okay generic brand food. However that was years ago and that wasn't in Manhattan so being the true curious Georgina that I am, I wondered in cautiously yesterday. The lines, they are still there so plan ahead but now I understand why people are willing to stand on those lines. They have everything in that store. And it's perfect for the busy NYer who doesn't really know how to cook but wants to make a romantic dinner for her beau because they have endless looking yummy pre-made foods. Even their produce looks fresh and good. And the prices, I felt like I was in Kansas, things are cheap in there, truly cheap. My burrata cheese that I love so much was $4.49 for 2 balls of it and it was yummy; I usually pay close to $15 for that in those ritzy establishments that I usually frequent! I would say, it's worth a look see!
